'MY PhD' (a summary)

Recently I was asked if I might contribute an article for a biannual magazine at King’s: a five-hundred-word PhD summary for general readership.

Eventually my thesis will be hundreds of pages, not hundreds of words, all of which, I hope, will be direct and necessary for my argument. My supervisor laughed when I mentioned the article and its word limit.

It felt a bit like I imagine it would creating a Sudoku: in the end I gave one specific example, and left out all the analysis. So it’s for you to complete...
