Probably my most experimental work. 3 Dreams plays on the social, physical, and notational histories of the two instruments.
First performed by Rachel Stroud and myself in the Round Church, Cambridge, alongside Lorenzo Bastida, a poet and Dante scholar. We'll be taking the project, which features recitations from Vita Nova and La divina commedia, as well as lectures on Dante's three dreams in 'Purgatorio', on tour in Italy in May 2023, starting in Florence and finishing in Rome. Lorenzo's recitations are exquisite.
